The only way to know the truth is to read it for yourself. I have a reading plan that will help you stay on schedule. But don’t worry if you miss a day, it’s set up for just that. There isn’t a set day for a particular verse(s). Take it day by day, and you will get through the entire Bible. It is essential to know what the Bible says; the only way to find that out is to read it yourself.
To get started, select a set. You don’t have to go in order; just pick a set and start. These are set up to include complete chapters, not in between verses, so you get the full context of your reading. Each one has links to an online Bible, so you don’t need to pull yours out unless you want to. Also, I know there are people out there who get stuck or stop at the genealogies. I’ll give you a little advice to get through these areas.
- 1)Don’t try to pronounce the names, just look to get the reference and move on. Unless they are fluent in Hebrew, no one can pronounce some of these names.
- 2)Skimming through all those names is the best way, though they are important, as all names are, these sections are for reference of who came from whom.
During that time, keeping records of these genealogies was very important, especially regarding the Levitical priesthood. But for our reference, just glazing over this information is okay. Please don’t skip over it because there is other important information even between some of these.
So, let’s get started on your incredible journey into God’s word.
